"کامپوزیت غیر خطی انعطاف پذیر سبک وزن (LFNLC)" به دسته خاصی از مواد کامپوزیتی با کارایی بالا اشاره دارد که معیارهای ساختاری و عملکردی خاص خود را دارند مانند "بافت متخلخل یا متخلخل مانند" و "رفتار غیرخطی در خمش". کامپوزیت الاستیک، بتن سبک تقویت شده (ECRLC) یک LFNLC سیمانی است. با استفاده از این ساختار یکپارچه در ساخت تیرهایی با قابلیت کرنش بسیار بالا، مدول ارتجاعی و سفتی در خمش، می‌توانیم ظرفیت باربری بسیار بالاتری را در وزن بسیار کمتر فراهم کنیم. در همین حال، هرگونه احتمال خرابی ترد و فشاری، به ویژه در تیرهای بسیار سبک و کم ارتفاع، حذف می شود. ECRLC، به عنوان یک کامپوزیت ارتجاعی سبک وزن، یک ماده همه کاره و نسبتا ارزان است. با توجه به اهمیت استراتژیک ساخت و ساز سبک و یکپارچه در بهبود مقاومت در برابر زلزله، ECRLC می تواند به ویژه در مناطق لرزه خیز مفید باشد. با در نظر گرفتن رفتار و انعطاف‌پذیری این سیستم انعطاف‌پذیر و شکل‌پذیری آن، می‌توان از آن در ساخت «ساندویچ پانل‌های تقویت‌شده فوق‌العاده سبک و عایق‌کننده»، محافظ‌های ایمن، سازه‌های مقاوم در برابر ضربه، برخی زیرساخت‌ها و ... استفاده کرد. سبکی در صرفه جویی در انرژی و کاهش هزینه کل ساخت و ساز ساختمان نیز مهم است. در این مقاله، مشخصات ساختاری و عملکردی اصلی LFNLC، برخی از کاربردها و یک نمونه قابل تکرار و ساده از ECRLC به طور خلاصه ارائه شده است.
